When men grow old they have to
deal with many ailments and an enlarged
prostate gland can be one of them. Just because
the gland has become bigger does not mean it is
cancer. It is a condition called 'benign
prostatic hyperplasia'. Although we mention old
age, it is a cancer that can affect most age
groups.
The symptoms of
both benign and malignant tumors are much akin
and include
Serious
need to urinate
often
Difficulty with peeing, and
pain
Bloody
urine or semen
Erectile
dysfunction (erection
difficulties)
Erectile dysfunction is
another common condition in male species that
is not really distinguished with having
anything to do with cancer as a rule. The
causes for this condition rising are usually
something clearly and completely different from
having cancer. However still down as a symptom,
so we have to recognize this when we broach the
matter of prostate
cancer.
Dribbling of urine before and
after weeing
Pain and
bleeding – are “not” common symptoms in
prostate cancer. However regardless of the word
uncommon, it can happen so therefore not to be
ignored as to being some other condition. The
only way to find out for sure that the symptoms
of bleeding and pain is not connected to
prostate cancer in your case, is to have it
checked out by your
doctor.
If you
see change or notice an abnormality of some
kind around your genitals then have your doctor
look at it.
A prostate tumor is a lump
produced by abnormal out of control growth of
cells. The tumor can be malignant (cancerous)
or benign (non-cancerous.)
The
prostate is a gland that fabricates the
liquid part of semen, and is sited at the
bottom of your bladder. The front of the
prostate envelops the urethra; the tube
urine passes through from your bladder
and out through the
penis.
Prostate
cancer or any other cancer is a deadly disease
and the only way to fight it is with the help
of modern medicine and medics. Cancer doesn’t
go away and neither will it cure itself. This
is the big problem about this sort of cancer
because men tend to ignore it instead of
seeking urgent help. The help which could save
their life. More men overcome and beat prostate
cancer because they faced their problem head on
and sought medical
attention.
As like
with most conditions and disorders we have no
true answer to why they occur, and as we speak
the start of prostate cancer is not fully
understood either. Men more at risk of
developing prostate cancer include
if
Someone
in the family has had prostate
cancer
50 years
of age
Female
relatives with breast cancer (inherited a
faulty
gene)
You’re
African-Caribbean or
African-American
You’re
eating a high in fat
diet
You’re
overweight
Your GP
to determine your condition will need to
examine you or refer you to an
urologist.
Examinations:
a digital rectal
examination of your prostate. A finger
(lubricated glove) is used to enter your rectum
and feel your prostate through the wall of your
rectum.

protein created by both normal and cancerous
prostate cells. If the test shows you have too
much of PSA level it doesn't mean you have to
panic because cancer is not normally a result
of this.
